Everytime the wind is heard
And so is she
Everytime a soul cries
And so does she
Everytime a spirit whispers
And so does she
*
Spiritual mysteries
Listen with the child within
Never let her go
She’s wiser than most men
Like a fine mist she can be felt
One need only to be still
Listen with the child within
Never too old to feel
True riches of this world
Have been brought before you
Answers to the hereafter
Heard only by the inner you
*
The simple pleasures
Endless treasures
Eyes that are widely closed
Missing out, losing out
Traveling a one-way road
*
See with the child’s mind
The one outgrown and mocked
The one evicted long ago
Maturity slammed and double locked
The child who heard with fresh ears
A greater spiritual awareness
Her senses highly attuned
Seasoned with innocence
Growing up, no room for inner you
Spiritual light burned out
Replaced with age
And self-doubt
All grown up, no time for make-believe
Silly and mythical
Fables and fairytales
Only a child would conceive
*
Is it possible, she was right
That voice of your inner child
A small chance that she was right
Her visions not imagined and wild
Do spirits walk the earth?
Offering all of life’s answers
Are we afraid of the inner child?
Afraid her notions were not wild?
*
The simple pleasures
Endless treasures
Eyes that are widely closed
Missing out, losing out
Traveling a one-way road
